Killarney is one of those very small places that more often than not you just pass straight through. On occasion you may stop at such a place and it's only then that you realise what's on offer. Killarney is a little bit of Ireland in between Warnambool and Port Fairy. Potatoes, dairy cows and just down the road is Killarney Beach. Swimming, surfing or fishing it's likely that your only company will be the gulls. And of course Tower Hill is just a 5 minute drive. Here you can learn about Aboriginal culture, bush tucker and come face to face with some of this country's most fascinating animals.
Koroit is one of those small hamlets where you can still find genuine vestiges of our history and it is a town which not only knows its history but a town which revels in it. It was the Irish who initially settled this area and it is descendants of those settlers who continue to celebrate its celtic origins. This is nowhere more eveident than in the now famous Koroit Irish Festival which has been growing in strength since its inception in 1997. If you're in this area in late April, early May don't miss it. The main road through this small town is now completely National Trust listed. No set designs here - so come on down and take a walk though history.
